What is considered the best time to go to Pearl Harbor / Arizona Memorial?

The morning tours, especially the 6:45 a.m., are the most ideal.

There can be long lines during the high seasons. But you won’t face any problems if you take the earliest tour at 6:45 a.m.

What should I bring on my Pearl Harbor tour?

What you should not bring is any fanny packs, backpacks, purses or anything that provides concealment and it is due to security reasons.

You can carry your cameras and camcorders without their cases. However, you may bring your purses and leave them with your tour guides if you are doing a Pearl Harbor with an Island tour combo. We suggest you to take all your cash and credit cards with you. Your personal items will be locked in the vehicle.

Am I allowed to board the Memorial?

We provide the official Navy tour. So yes, you can board the Navy shuttle-boat to the Arizona Memorial.

Am I allowed to bring flowers to Pearl Harbor/ Arizona Memorial?

Yes, you can bring flowers to pay respects to our heroes. Please break the thread if you plan to use your lei’s flowers so the marine life is not hurt.

You get to learn about our legends, geology, history, archeology and how the Hawaiian people used different species of plants.

Your tour guides will show you which of the beautiful plants are endemic, indigenous, and introduced plants to the islands.

There are many birds to see, but there are days when there are no birds to see and it is true for all nature tours. You can usually see white Rum-Shama, Japanese Bush Warbler, and Japanese White-Eye.

What do I need to bring on my Eco-Adventure? What do you provide?

Bathing suit, towel, change of clothes, proper footwear, sunscreen, bottled water.

We provide sanitized snorkeling equipment and boogie boards for tours featuring those activities.

Are the hiking trails safe?

We hike well-maintained trails. No dangerous or poisonous animals or plants are found in Hawaii.

Tropical rainforests may have mosquitoes.

However, we will not operate the tour and you can reschedule or get a full refund if the trails are not safe. But that rarely happens.

Our professional guides are certified in first aid, water safety, and CPR. We always carry first aid kits and mobile phones.

Are we informed about who is picking us up and where?

You’ll receive two confirmation emails with all the information about your tour as soon as you book your tour. The time you will be picked up and where you will meet your tour guide will be explained in the second email.

Your transportation will be marked with our Discover Hawaii Tours logo as and when you reach your pick-up location and your designated pick-up time.

Our local expert tour guide will be calling out your name when they arrive at your hotel.

It is essential that you enter the correct hotel at which you will be staying. Because if you are not picked up at your scheduled time and location, it is because we have the wrong hotel information. However, it rarely happens.

We suggest that you reconfirm your reservation 24 hours before your tour. If there are any changes regarding hotels or any delays when you reach the islands, let us know by calling us toll-free at 1-808-739-7900.

Your tour guides will have to pick up passengers at a few hotels, which means they we will be there on time. For example, if your pick up time is between 8:45 and 9:05 am, your tour guide will be there between those times.

In case we are not there a few minutes after the pick time, please call us toll-free at 1-808-739-7900 to check on the location of your tour guide.

What is your cancellation policy?

We offer risk-free reservations and easy cancellation policy for all of our tours:


Changes and cancellations are allowed up to 48 hours before the commencement of the tour without penalty. No-shows and changes or cancellations within 48 hours are subject to a full charge. No refunds are available once a tour has started.


All tours which include airfare are non-refundable once the reservation is purchased and it is because of airline tickets restrictions. Airline tickets are non-changeable and non-transferable.

Can you accommodate the special requests that I have for my tour?

Of course, we can accommodate! You just have to let our friendly reservations staff know of your requests if you are booking over the phone.

If you are using the online booking process, then there is a ‘Special Requests’ box where you can let us know about any food allergies (when lunch is included), special occasions, requests, and any other important information that you feel is important.

What kind of training do your tour guides have?

We hand-select the finest candidates to become the face of our company, our tour guides. It is a must for every tour guide to complete an intense two-week training course.

Applicants need to pass a series of written and verbal tests that covers topics on ancient and modern Hawaiian history, Pearl Harbor history, and American history. Rigorous training is given to the potential applicants on Hawaiian culture, traditions, ecology, geography, and folklore.

They are finally presented with the prestigious title of “Hawaii’s Ambassador of Aloha” when they pass the training.

What type of vehicles do you use?

We use Luxury Deluxe Mini-Coaches equipped with air-conditioning, reclining seats and extra large sightseeing windows. Each bus seats 12-25 passengers.

What types of safety procedures need to be followed?

You don’t need to worry as you will be travelling with a reliable and stable company that is in compliance with all Public Utilities Commission as well as State and Federal permits and requirements.

Our two full-time, certified mechanics, follow a detailed pre-maintenance program recommended by the vehicle manufacturer to guarantee our safety and limit vehicle malfunctions.

We also carry a $5 million auto, as well as general liability insurances.

Our vehicles are replaced every 3 years.

Even though this rarely happens, but in case your vehicle breaks down during the tour, we have systems ready to send one of our stand-by vehicles to the scene instantly so your precious time is not wasted.

Does your company has proper certifications and authorizations?

Absolutely! We’re fully licensed and certified to carry out all our tours!

Here are the details: We carry Commercial Use Authorization for all of our Pearl Harbor Tours, which allows our tour guides to enter Pearl Harbor’s Museums. We are an authorized transportation company for Pearl Harbor and are allowed to transport our guests to Ford Island.

Furthermore, we are an Authorized Transportation provider for Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and conduct tours to the world’s most active volcano, Mt. Kilauea.

Do you have a child rate / accommodation for children?

Yes, our child rate applies to children between the ages of 2 and 12 years old and includes the same perks as the adult rate. There is no charge for lap children that do not use a seat travel.

We do not provide or rent car seats at the moment and according to the law, car seats are not required on tour buses. You will have to pay the cost for the seat on tour if you want to bring one. You will be charged child rate.

Parents are advised to keep their children under control at all times. It is for the child’s safety and the enjoyment of others. Hiking tours are not recommended for infants.

All of the Island tours and Pearl Harbor tours are perfectly suitable for pregnant women. But Hiking tours are not recommended for pregnant women.

Do you stop for snacks / lunch / bathroom?

Yes, all of our tours stop for snacks on the short tours and lunch on the full day tours. You will also get sufficient time to feed your baby.

We also have scheduled bathroom stops along the routes. In case you require additional stops, please let your tour guide know at the start of the tour and we will eagerly accommodate your request.

Is there a lot of walking involved?

Not at all! We do make a lot of stops for picture taking and to give you the chance to experience Hawaii. But all of the stops on our Island tours & Pearl Harbor tours are just a few yards from the mini-buses. So you do not need to walk far. You can even take pictures from your seat if you prefer to stay on the bus. Hiking tours are the only tours on which extensive walking is involved.

Is it safe to go on tours if I have a medical condition?

You need to check with your doctor and find out if there are any limitations to your touring. Sites like Volcano on the Big Island have more medical concerns than others. For your safety consult your doctor to know about any restrictions you may have and we need to know.

Is there a room for wheelchairs in your vehicles?

At present, our vehicles can accommodate collapsible wheelchairs only.

You have to let us know at the time of booking your tour that you will be traveling with a collapsible wheelchair. We can then make arrangements so that you are fully accommodated. Please advise us of your special needs by calling us toll-free at 1-808-739-7900.
